• Float and camp

  Official camping names: River Ranch, WaySide, and Shady Beach at 14332 State Highway 59. Wear a PFD; the Elk floods. The 2026 float season is closed; cabins and lodging remain year-round. Full list with links: Visit Noel — float & camp · River — outfitters.

  Season status (21 Oct 2026 re-fetch of all ten operator sites, 10/10 HTTP 200 to UA noel-lane-verify/1.0): the 2026 float season is closed. Shady Beach’s Memorial–Labor Day float-to-camp rule has been closed since 1 September 2026. Two Sons’ “Open May – September” window ended ~21 days ago. Lazy Days’ posted window (1 May – 24 September) has ended; 27 days past. Big Elk is open March through end of October — final ~10 days of the 2026 camping window as of this fetch (closes 31 October 2026). Cabins and lodging at every operator are year-round; call ahead for current hours and 2027 dates.

• The bluff on Highway 59

  Missouri Route 59 runs through the west side of Noel. The limestone cut is a real pull-off, not a travel-lane stop, and it is a tight squeeze for large RVs.

• Christmas City postmark

  A post office called Noel has operated since 1886. The holiday cancellation became widely known in the late 1940s. ZIP 64854. Ask the Noel Post Office for this season's dates.

• Bluff Dwellers Cave

  Show cave just south of Noel, opened to the public in 1927 and still owned by the Browning family. 417-475-3666. Guided one-hour tours, museum, gem panning. Fall & winter (Sep 1 – Mar 31): 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Sun–Thu, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Fri–Sat; closed Tue & Wed Dec–Feb. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day. First-come, first-served.
